On October 1, 2001 the Swedish telecommunication company and the Japanese electronics company joined together to manufacture mobile phones. Both these companies, namely Ericsson and Sony stopped making there own cell phones and manufactured the brand name Sony Ericsson only. The reason for this joint venture was their individual expertise, by combining which a great new line of cell phones was to be produced.
