In 1984, Michael dell created a company by the name of PCs Limited while he was studying at The University of Texas Austin. The company’s headquarter was the university’s dormitory room and it built IBM PC compatible computers from stick components. After dropping from the university to try his luck with the business, funded by his family, he was able to transform into a $73 million gross trading earner entity, by 1985. By the next year the company was expanding internationally and the name was changed to Dell Computer Corporation. By 1996 Dell was selling computers through website and by 2002 had expanded its product line that included the handhelds. In 2003 the company simply changed the name to Dell inc. in the line of products of handhelds some innovative featured products were marketed that had a mixed response; as a result some of the products, namely Axim a PDA was discontinued in 2007 and Dell Digital Jukebox an MP3 player was discontinued in 2006.
