Blackberry’s new phone Storm 9500 is an average touch screen and has no keyboard. The phone is no doubt a heavy one when compared to its competitors including the Apple iPhone. The phone is much wider than the Diamond, Dare, Curve and iPhone and has a bulky look. Blackberry Storm 9500 has a solid look and the design is somewhat similar to the Apple iPhone. Storm 9500 has a large 3.2 inch screen and a chrome finish at its end. The phone has 4 classic hard keys – Send, Menu, Escape and End. On the left side of this device is a convenience key and a micro USB charging cum data port. 3.5 mm headset jack and volume rockers with a convenience key are at the right side of Storm 9500.
Blackberry Storm 9500 has a 3.2 MP camera with flash and autofocus feature. The phone has a built in memory of 1 GB and an extra expansion slot which supports micro SD/ micro SHDC memory cards. The 3.2 inch TFT screen has 65536 colours and light sensor feature is similar to that of Apple iPhone. Blackberry Storm 9500 has a battery backup of 5.5 hrs (Talk time) and 360 hrs (Standby time). The phone is based on Blackberry Operating System 4.7 and has a built in 128 MB RAM. Despite this the phone takes a lot of time to process the data and has slow navigation.
The phone is treated as a rival for Apple iPhone but the latter is a stronger contender in this series. Unlike the Apple iPhone Blackberry Storm 9500 gives its user an access to battery and memory card. The phone has great applications and office software which make it a nice business class phone. The screen of the phone is crystal clear and the content is even visible clearly in bright sunlight. Overall Blackberry Storm 9500 is a great phone, camera, audio/video player and PDA.
